Behind the lens – what you’ll learn
With the Photography Essentials course, you will learn the fundamentals of photography, everything from camera basics like ISO, shutter speed, aperture and studio lighting to the post-production side of photography and editing with the introduction to Photoshop and Lightroom workflow, as well as exporting and managing images for both print and online, giving you everything you need to know to get started capturing your vision.
If you’re wanting to take your photography dreams from hobby to career, then the Photography Essentials course will teach you how to understand client briefs, stage products, work with and pose live models, giving you a strong foundation for both professional and commercial photography.
Meet the trainer
One76 Academy’s resident photography trainer, Dylan Crawford is a national award-winning, experienced photographer, educator and visual storyteller.
With 12 years of industry experience, Dylan’s portfolio ranges from commercial photography to national events including the Woodford Folk Festival, and the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. During his career, Dylan has produced numerous cultural projects, as well as landscape and wildlife photography for SeaWorld, and has documented numerous environmental issues and human rights movements.

As a passionate photographer and educator, Dylan will introduce you to the science of capturing light and art of capturing life, while teaching you exciting new techniques for visual storytelling to take your visions from dreams to creative masterpieces.
The Photography Essentials course kicks off on Monday 8 March, and runs from 6pm – 8pm Monday and Wednesday evenings for 4 weeks. All students enrolled in the Photography Essentials course will receive a 1TB hard drive, 2 hours of dry hire in our recently opened photo studio, as well as a ticket to our One76 Photography Marketing Workshop.
To ensure students receive an optimal learning experience, classes are strictly limited to 10 students, so if you’re a creative with an interest in photography, get in quick to avoid disappointment.
