One76 Wrap-up: August Edition

Winter is officially finito and we’re so stoked to be entering another action-packed month filled with cool shoots, fresh content and more importantly, new friends.

We’re grateful to have had so many amazing creatives come through our doors in August, so here’s a little snippet of what went down at One76 last month along with some bangers to get you in the mooood.

1. Speed Shoot Day

Last month we had our very first Speed Shoot Day at One76 Photo Studio and it was a smash hit. We set out to bring in a bunch of brands for a day of shooting killer content, and boy did we get it.

We allocated 45 minute slots with unrestricted access to all of our studio equipment, materials, backdrops, props and more. All that was needed was to organise a creative team (photographer, videographer, mua etc) and bring along your products, pieces and artistic flair.

2. How to make an EPK – and why you need one

For those budding musicians who need a little crash course in getting gigs, this one’s for you.

The first step to getting gigs is to have a kickass EPK (electronic press kit). An EPK is a must-have and we show you how to make one for free and why you really need one.

Plus, we dive deep into what to include in an EPK. And how to create a press kit that gets you noticed by music journos, booking agents and promoters, whether you’re a solo artist, band, music producer or songwriter.

3. Music Video for IVEY the band

Our studio is built for more than just photoshoots. We’ve been home to multiple music videos including WE ARE ISO’s Summertime Isolation and more recently the latest music video for Gold Coast’s Indie pop band, IVEY. We’ve got everything needed to pull off the perfect music video, with 9 coloured backdrops, props and a huge cyclorama wall, you’re only limited by your imagination.

Keep an eye out for the new IVEY music video dropping soon.

3. How to start a podcast

In recent years, we’ve seen a massive rise in the popularity of podcasting with people building very cushy careers out of having their own show and brands using it as yet another platform to be heard in a cluttered market. However, the amount of information out there for creating your own podcast can be a bit fuzzy. So we’ve cut complexity by creating a guide to starting your own podcast for beginners.

This guide starts all the way from how to choose your podcast theme to planning your episodes and we’ve even added free tools to get you started, including a free downloadable step-by-step guide.

4. We had a billboard!

For those Gold Coasters traveling along Southport Burleigh Road over the past two weeks, you might have seen our billboard. And, if you were waiting for a sign to come in and try out the studio, this was it. Pun fully intended. Keep your eyes peeled for our bus back going out this month.

5. Dreamy Brow Shoot for Thic Brow Co.

We were blessed to have the brown-queen herself visit the studio to shoot for her new brow styling wax. If you’re dying for a life of picture-perfect brows, this is going to be a must-have in your makeup bag. You can snag one of these babies from the Thic Brow Co as of the 2nd of September.

6. Women in Business

Our studio also caters for large or small events, which is exactly what went down with the lovely ladies from the Gold Coast Women In Business & Beyond. The studio was transformed into a comfortable, boho-style space that was perfect for their August meetup.

7. The September Special

Party on into the weekend with some of our fave tunes for the month. Our September playlist is a surefire way to get you and your mates into the mood to boogie any time of the day. Listen at your own risk.
